Weatherization Grant
The Kansas
Weatherization Assistance Program has grants for home energy improvements
including weatherstripping and repairs around windows and doors;
sealing cold air leaks; stopping gas leaks; insulating exterior
walls and attics; minor roof repairs; and
repairing or replacing furnaces when necessary. The program is
coordinated throughout the region by SCKEDD in the following
counties:
Barber, Chautauqua, Cowley, Elk, Harper, Kingman,
McPherson, Rice, Reno, Pratt, Stafford, Sedgwick and
Sumner.

directly to SCKEDD.

Submit most recent 3 months
proof of income with application.
If any household member has
received Supplemental Security Income (SSI), or Temporary Aid to
Needy Families (TANF) at any time during the previous 12 month
period, the household is automatically eligible for
Weatherization.
No lien against the property is
required in exchange for a grant.
Referrals available when more
extensive repairs are needed.
Families that own or rent are
eligible.
Weatherization does not install
storm windows or storm doors.
Weatherization cannot replace
deteriorated roofs.
